Bills to watch
HB 2500 - Approved by House and transferred to the Senate. If passed would prevent counties and municipalities from prohibiting an owner of real property or the owner's agent (Realtor) from displaying on the property and/or in an area within a public or private right-of way a sign advertising that the property is for sale or rent, an open house, the owner or agent's name and contact information, and directions to the property. Many cities/counties oppose; could allow proliferation of signs and takes control out of local jurisdictions.
HB2333 - Approved by House and transferred to the Senate. If passed would restrict city, town or county regulations on no-impact home-based businesses. Many cities/counties oppose because of concerns regarding the number of employees allowed at the home based business and impacts on traffic and parking. Plus, this takes control away from local jurisdictions.

BA2018003. Approved. Applicant: Bill Barry. Owner: Generalli William/Boling Belinda. Location: 36430 N 34TH Ave. (parcel203-39-010A). Obtaining permission for construction after previously conducted disturbance of hillside area at the property in 1/1/2000. Admin incomplete (needs hillside site plan) – messaged applicant & routed 1-18-18. Related case: Permit B201706607: Residential New Single Family Residence. Status: In analyzing this request, county staff noted that a large portion of the property was cleared in 2004-2007 by a prior owner. Staff also noted that the applicant is essentially offering to perform restoration of previously disturbed areas. Staff is of the opinion that given the history of the parcel and that the applicant seems amenable to restoration; the request is reasonable. It’s important to note the hillside regulations were amended in 2010. The subject disturbance was permitted under the previous permit subject to the old regulations. The permit was never completed and since expired. There is a new property owner
